José Miguel OliveiraAntónio Pestana Araújo and Kenny Laisse sign the chapter on Mozambique in the 11th edition of the International Comparative Legal Guide - Shipping Law 2024, published by the Global Legal Group.

In this publication, the lawyers analyse Mozambican legislation and regulations applicable to the country's shipping industry. To this end, the following topics are addressed: marine casualty, cargo and passenger claims, arrest and security, foreign judgments and awards, offshore wind and renewable energy, as well as the latest developments in the sector.

In this final chapter, the authors envision the future of the industry by clarifying that "Mozambique has enacted a number of important laws and regulations at the same time that it has ratified several key international treaties and conventions", to "follow and adopt the latest international trends in the industry and take advantage of the country’s location and impacts of the multimillion gas project in the North to increase levels of foreign direct investment; upgrade existing port and logistic infrastructures; and therefore, boost the economy and contribute to the wellbeing and social development of its population".
